Errata

This is a compilation of errata relating to continuity, visualization, or other irreconcilable "real world" incongruities in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Awakening

Use slideshow below to review photos (when called out in the following list):

• [c.f. Photo 1A & 1B]: When Twiki places Dr. Theopolis on the desk before buck, many things are changed, as the shot was done in a different location entirely. In fact, it is the room where Rogers is later held after he is sentenced to death for high treason, just dressed with a desk. To wit:
  1. The red horizontal "mood stripe" lighting around the room is missing.
  2. A keypad is on the desk, coming from nowhere.
  3. The desk is different; it is not curved.
  4. The black chair is missing.

• [c.f. Photo 2]: Col. Wilma Deering's helmet intermittently has "Col. Deering" lettered on the side of her helmet, particularly as she launches from Draconia during the faux pirate attack staged by Princess Ardala. In other scenes, particularly after launch, the lettering isn't present.

• [c.f. Photo 3]: When Deering retrieves her personalized helmet from the top of the slide-canopy cover, a hand-written sign (located where instrumentation should be) is seen, along with a blank instrumentation panel. This sign has "Please!" written in red marker, with "Do Not Stand" partially readable in black marker, placed as a note for actors so as to prevent the set piece from being damaged while in use.

• [c.f. Photo 4A & 4B]: The shot where Rogers comes across the first gravestone in the cemetery is a flipped version of the scene where Rogers comes across his family's gravestone during his explorations of Anarchia. The tell-tale sign is the mirror-image of his patch, which is incorrectly oriented in the first shot.

• [c.f. Photo 5]: Pyrotechnics on the set during Draconia's attack on Earth illuminate the wood framed ceiling.

• [c.f. Photo 6]: Pyrotechnics on the set during Draconia's attack on Earth illuminate the confines of the soundstage, as well as illustrate the framed wood structure suspended as a "ceiling", and even illuminates the stair way to the right.

• 

  [Photo 1A]: William "Buck" Rogers, Theopolis and Twiki present at Rogers' first debriefing; Theo asks Twiki to put him down to look at Rogers, so that Twiki may get Rogers a refreshment (BR25: Film, "Awakening").

  [Photo 1B]: Twiki places Theopolis on a different desk in this shot at Rogers' first debriefing (BR25: Film, "Awakening").

  [Photo 2]: Col. Wilma Deering's helmet intermittently has "Col.   [Photo 4B]: William "Buck" Rogers comes across the Rogers family gravestone in the remains of Chicago, Illinois, now known as part of Anarchia.

• 

  [Photo 5]: An explosion near a Hatchet fighter reveals wood framing in the ceiling of the soundstage where Draconia's launch bay had been built (BR25: Film, "Awakening").

• 

  [Photo 6]: An explosion in Draconia's launch bay illuminates the blackened walls of the soundstage (BR25: Film, "Awakening").

Planet of the Slave Girls

• [c.f. Photo 1]: The footage of Duke Danton and William "Buck" Rogers in Danton's Thunderfighter (as seen from the outside of the cockpit) is flipped, as evidenced by the box and armband and the helmet mic location flip.

• [c.f. Photo 2]: A plane seen off in the horizon, behind the nomads that follow William "Buck" Rogers and Duke Danton following their crash in the Sea of Stone.

• [c.f. Photo 3]: When Wilma Deering types into the keyboard of the computer console in Kaleel's command center, either the actress of hand double is wearing her red jumpsuit, although Deering herself is seen wearing a purple worker dress.

• [c.f. Photo 4]: After talking to Maj. Duke Danton, Dr. Elias Huer sits in his office chair and, as the camera pans out, one can see an unfinished mess of wires leading out from the desk, in addition to two wood wedges under the chair to prevent it from moving.

• 

  [Photo 1]: The footage of Duke Danton and William "Buck" Rogers in Danton's Thunderfighter (as seen from the outside of the cockpit) is flipped, as evidenced by the box and armband and the helmet mic location flip (BR25: "Planet of the Slave Girls").

• 

  [Photo 2]: A plane seen off in the horizon, behind the nomads that follow William "Buck" Rogers and Duke Danton following their crash in the Sea of Stone (BR25: "Planet of the Slave Girls").

  [Photo 3]: An insert shot of Wilma Deering typing at a keyboard, of note are the sleeves to her red jumpsuit, which she is not wearing in this scene (BR25: "Planet of the Slave Girls").

  [Photo 4]: After a subspace conversation with Maj. Duke Danton, Dr. Elias Huer sits at his desk, and one can see that his chair is held into place by two wood wedges and a mess of wires coming out from under the desk as the camera pans out (BR25: "Planet of the Slave Girls").]]

Others

• While Stella Warden is seen in a Thunderfighter cockpit en route to Vistula, a transitional shot shows her piloting a Scorpion fighter.
• The launch of the honor guard Thunderfighters conveying Regis Saroyan to Vistula is a re-use of the Third Force of the Earth Directorate's launch from Draconia's launch channels in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century's Film during the Pirate Attack on Draconia.
• The scene of Ardala's launch leaving New Chicao in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century's Film is re-used as the shuttle heading to Kaleel's fortress in the Sea of Stone. A later scene switches to the Galactica shuttle (making its first appearance in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) as the shuttle conveying Ryma and Deering to Kaleel's mountain in the Sea of Stone.
• The pilot point-of-view shot, inserted as Duke Danton's Thunderfighter descends into the Sea of Stone, is lifted from Battlestar Galactica. This telltale sign is evidenced by the layout of the canopy frame.
• During the Battle of Vistula, the appearance of Hatchet fighters is due to the re-use of fight scenes from the pilot; Kaleel's force consists solely of Scorpion fighters.
