Tigerman was the main bodyguard for Princess Ardala when William "Buck" Rogers returned to Earth in 2491.
Tigerman was described by Kane as also being an eunuch (BR25: "Awakening").
He was temporarily assigned to one of Ardala's sisters, possibly in exchange for Pantherman (BR25: "Flight of the War Witch").
Notes
- Tigerman is loosely based on the Tiger Men from Mars from the 1930s comics, who themselves made an appearance in 1934's Buck Rogers in the 25th Century -- An Interplanetary Battle with the Tiger Men of Mars.
- As with the characters of Kane and Dr. Theopolis, Tigerman is portrayed by a different performer in the series. Interestingly, Tigerman is switched out during the film (and "Awakening," as it was recut from the film) for the fight scene with Rogers at the end with H.B. Haggerty, thus making Tigerman's removal from Princess Ardala's chambers by Kane and his lieutenant being the last appearance of Duke Butler's "Tigerman."
- In "Flight of the War Witch, Part II," Ardala christens her new bodyguard as "Pantherman," suggesting that she names her bodyguards after Earth animals.
