The Vorvon avatar[1] is a being imbued with Vorvon abilities.
Upon conversion, the avatar retains its original form, but possesses its powers such as hypnotism and the ability to drain life force energies. The avatar is also susceptible to pain inflicted by the power lock, and the avatarism can be reversed (at least in its early stages) upon the destruction of the Vorvon that converted them.
It is unknown if this conversion is the process by which Vorvons perpetuate their ilk.
Wilma Deering
In 2491 CE, a Vorvon arriving to Theta Station via I.S. Demeter focuses on converting Wilma Deering into an avatar, first by instilling overwhelming fear over a period of time before converting her, eliciting her consent to conversion by promising to spare William "Buck" Rogers and Royko.
Following her conversion, Deering feeds on two security guards before she attempts to feed on Rogers before thwarting her with the power lock. She flees to the Vorvon, and they make their way off the station using Rogers' shuttle, which Rogers previously sabotaged by forcing Stargate 9 to bring the shuttle into collision course with an unnamed star. As the shuttle nears, the Vorvon loses its power over Deering, who escapes before the Vorvon overloads with the star's power.
She fully recovers from the (BR25: "Space Vampire").
